Week 53 chemo complete: Chasing sunsets on the beach

On Tuesday a friend posted sunny photos from the beach and I felt inspired to head down to watch the sunset. Although it was a bit cloudy, I held out hope that the sun would eventually break through. When it did, I took off my shoes and socks and let the sand run through my toes as I walked along the beach. It felt good and brought back memories of summer.

Counting down to summertime.

To recap: On Sunday, Feb 14th, I completed Cycle 14 Week 1. I have Multiple Myeloma and anemia, a rare blood cancer. It is incurable, but treatable. From February to November 2013, I received Velcade chemo through weekly in-hospital injections as an outpatient. Since February 9th 2015, I have been on Pomalyst and dexamethasone chemo treatment (Pom/dex).

Weekly chemo-inspired self-portraits can be viewed in my flickr album.
