Week 46 chemo complete: The Wanderer

Week 46 chemo complete: The Wanderer

When I took this self-portrait after sunrise on Thursday, I wanted to tell the story of a backpacker looking for accommodation. He is tired from travelling through the night, but maintains a positive attitude, feeling confident a room will be available, regardless of what the sign says.

To recap: On Sunday, December 27th, I completed Cycle 12 Week 1. I have Multiple Myeloma and anemia, a rare blood cancer. It is incurable, but treatable. From February to November 2013, I received Velcade chemo through weekly in-hospital injections as an outpatient. Since February 9th 2015, I have been on Pomalyst and dexamethasone chemo treatment (Pom/dex).

Weekly chemo-inspired self-portraits can be viewed in my flickr album.
