Some Beautiful Flowers

I decided to send some flowers to my sister as she may be getting out of the hospital on Thursday.

The company Farmgirl flowers have really lovely bouquets.

I thought it would cheer her up. I haven’t heard any updates on the cancer treatment plan but one thing at a time and she needs to get over the surgery and pneumonia.

It was a gym day and then my daughter and decided to get tacos for lunch. Yummy.

Dinner is chicken fajitas with pinto beans and guacamole.

21st Century Garden August 2015

A day late I know. The garden seems to have become a tangled mass of weeds and plants that have gone to seed, I know how they feel. The weather has been unpredictable at best, it usually rains on the days when I’m not busy doing other things. I might be making excuses too, I’ve been in a not gardening place. :(

There is some produce to see however:

Yes that’s an apple, one of two which magically appeared!

The peas have got a second wind, while the beans are intent on world domination.

The sunflowers we planted are almost as tall, they add a splash of colour and hopefully will provide Autumn food for the birds.

Talking of wildlife, it seems a rather enthusiastic leaf cutter bee has taken a couple of rooms in the bee hotel.

The leaves are now turning brown.

I seem to be flower mad this year, the snap dragons are beautiful and popped up in a whole range of colours.

This morning I captured a bee visiting.
Flight of the bee!

It’s the final countdown.

Flowers in buckets in garage ready for making bouquet tomorrow. Yes that’s right, I’m making my own bouquet, well it can’t be that hard and I did spend 2 weeks a few years ago helping out in a florist’s over a busy period that had both Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day in it.

It’s a shame all our loyal followers can’t be here with us tomorrow. We promise we will upload the photos just as soon as we get chance. I’ve already made sure that the album I created on Photobucket is open for you all to view (I know there maybe better sites, but I already had an account with them, I am open to suggestions if there is somewhere much better.)
8.30 p.m. update:One poorly friend calling to say she and hubby are coming down from Liverpool, despite doctor’s orders, check.Bucket load of tears and phone handed over to Mike, check.
I am so ecstatically happy.

Easter Bouquet

Gracie’s peeps took the girls to a Three Dog Bakery “Easter Begg Hunt” yesterday. Molly (left) and Gracie were dressed as spring flowers, in outfits that were a big hit at a neighborhood gala the week before.

They behaved themselves nicely and were the belles o’ the ball. (At a previous TDB event, Molly stole Frosty Paws from any dog foolish enough to lift his head for a nanosecond.) There were bunnies galore, but our girls were the only spring daisies!

More Spring Teasers

Here’s a first for the Villa: Snowdrops blooming… on March 11! The snowdrops are “volunteers,” meaning I didn’t plant any seeds or bulbs, they just suddenly showed up. In Molly’s yard, no less. Tiptoe through the poo piles.

My picture is so bad, I went to Google Images to find a better one. (By the way, I make an effort to find pics that are not copyrighted. Apologies if I’ve erred.)

Along the way, I found this mad cool floor lamp inspired by the snowdrop. My sister and I are both lamp-a-holics, and this one just sends me right over the edge.
