I know I’ve been bad and not updated lately, but there’s not been much news. Dad has been doing well and we are still waiting for the insurance.
Mom and Dad were able to take a trip to Galveston over the Labor Day Weekend. They rented a condo and Toby got to see the ocean!
There haven’t been a lot of appointments, and Mom even let Dad drive yesterday! They’ve gone to a couple of dinner parties and such; they seem to be having a good time.
I’ve consistently been able to run 3.1 miles – which is good! I’ve just got to get my speed up a bit. I’ve been working on that at the gym because I can control my speed there. I can do 5.7 miles per hour which takes me just over 30 minutes. Out on the pavement, it’s a little harder to convince yourself to run faster! Outside I’m closer to 5 miles per hour – it takes me closer to 40 minutes. My goal is to be somewhere between 30 and 35 minutes (around 10 – 11 minute miles) which I think is fair and reasonable.
I’ve almost raised $3,000 which is amazing. Dad and I are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.
Light the Night
Oh PS I keep seeing these Light the Night flyers everywhere – it’s crazy. So I thought I’d mention it. It’s a night walk for blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. It’s supposedly a casual fun walk and they are having them all over the country in September, October and November. You can find a local walk here – http://www.lightthenight.org/selectwalk/.
There’s one in Houston on November 10th and one in the Woodlands on October 21st. The Manhattan one is October 3rd. There’s a bunch on Long Island in October. There’s one in Buffalo, Rochester, Denver, etc. They are everywhere!!!
And now that I mentioned them, you will see the brochures everywhere too! They have Miranda Cosgrove on the front.
