In May of 2012, at the XIIIth International Symposium on Amyloidosis in Groningen (Netherlands), the Nomenclature Committee of the International Society of Amyloidosis updated amyloid fibril nomenclature guidelines, and expanded the list of recognized amyloid fibril subtypes.
