Met with Dr. Myint this afternoon and the 2nd autologous stem cell transplant is a “GO”. I’ll be admitted to UCH tomorrow for a minimum of a 21-day stay!
The plasma cells in my bone marrow were down to 1 percent from greater than 50 percent at the time of my relapse at the end of February 2012. I still have abnormal cytogenetics of 1q21 (3.5 %) and 4:14 (0.3 %), but they are very low in percentages – hence, Dr. Myint thinks I’m okay for the second transplant.
