Checkup Februari 28th

Yesterday I had my checkup with the hematologist. After a week with 5 radiations and high doses of Prednisone it is good to set things straight and find out what’s going to happen. On Monday 12th I will have a Pat scan, so they can identify the activity of the “spots”. With this kind of scan they can measure the absorption of sugars on these places. If the activity is obvious, action will be required. On this moment they are considering the chemo Cyclophosphamide. It is an old agent, familiar to most Myeloma patients from the CAD cure. It’s also known by many as Endoxan that is taken in pill form. The administration will be done every two weeks by means of an infusion. For the time being we just wait. Important is that the pain is going away. I can feel that this is the case. This next week I will loose the Prednisone. This must be done in a gentle way, stopping too abrupt can cause problems. I gather that with the diminishing of the pain the painkillers can be cut. I’m really in a hurry to get behind the wheel again. Soon I will drive myself to Amsterdam and back. I love to drive and nothing beats being your own man again…
