Occupational Sparkling

WE ARE OCCUPYING THIS BLOG IN PROTEST OF THE BLOGS THAT HAVE MORE READERS!

Crowds vie for greater blog access

For too long we little blogs have been under the bootheel of the bigger blogs and it’s time that we got a bigger piece of the pie. A mere 1% of the blogs out there hold 80% of the available readers and this isn’t fair. These websites employ shady tactics like the use of interesting or entertaining material to lure the majority of readers, and then they advertise to pull in the rest.

Are we supposed to allow these websites to ride the high tide of popularity when we are the suffering 1% out here scraping for words? We work hard, scrimping and saving words, and finding our words. We don’t have large staffs to do research and artwork. We’re too busy searching every nook and cranny for words we can assemble into our heartfelt writings. We look in old newspapers, in out of print books; even old bottle labels found in garage sales provide our words, and then we rehabilitate and repurpose them so they might be used again to bring pleasure to the few readers we manage to pry from the death grip talons of bigger blogs.

Join us in occupying this blog! Get all of your friends and everyone you know to occupy this blog. Then stay right here until we too are one of the big blogs with sponsors and agendas and deep, deep pockets of readers. Open your hearts. Open your minds. Open your bathrooms to the throng of strangers. We must stay the course until we declare Mission Accomplished!
